Wow, back in the sunshine again after being in UK for Xmas. Lunch in a sheltered corner of the balcony, out of reach of the cool breeze; with a glass of chilled white wine was wonderful. The thermometer shows 32 degrees. Thought this poem was appropriate
The Girl on the Airport Bus. She boarded the airport bus She walked down the aisle in a rush And she sat by the window and cried My heart was broken I’d offer small token But alas I need not have spoken And she sat by the window and cried I asked could I help and she gave me a smile She smiled and she said no I am just fine And she sat by the window and cried I said are you sure and tried to ensure She smiled and she said please don’t talk any more And she sat by the window and cried I was downcast but would try to the last I would pin my sails to the mast So I asked why she just sat and cried She said I‘m so happy I’m leaving these clouds Portugal’s sunshine is where I’m bound
