Return to the Algarve

Photo0020 (2)Wow, back in the sunshine again after being in UK for Xmas. Lunch in a sheltered corner of the balcony, out of reach of the cool breeze; with a glass of chilled white wine was wonderful. The thermometer shows 32 degrees. Thought this poem was appropriate

The Girl on the Airport Bus.
She boarded the airport bus
She walked down the aisle in a rush
And she sat by the window and cried

My heart was broken I’d offer small token
But alas I need not have spoken
And she sat by the window and cried

I asked could I help and she gave me a smile
She smiled and she said no I am just fine
And she sat by the window and cried

I said are you sure and tried to ensure
She smiled and she said please don’t talk any more
And she sat by the window and cried

I was downcast but would try to the last
I would pin my sails to the mast
So I asked why she just sat and cried

She said I‘m so happy
I’m leaving these clouds
Portugal’s sunshine is where I’m bound
